COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

For Richard and Carol, being a part of a community and calling it home comes with service within that community. The Carlson’s attend a small Lutheran Church in the historical district of downtown Sanford, where Richard serves as its treasurer. He also works with a number of local charities to assist them with their income tax and reporting requirements. Soon after moving to Sanford, Richard joined a local Rotary Club and has served as its president.

With a strong commitment to the revitalization for the enhancement and preservation of downtown Sanford, Richard and Carol purchased a building in the historic district at 107 Gordon Street for the location of their accounting office.

Carol is a long-time board member of Downtown Sanford, Inc. and a commissioner appointee to the Sanford Area Growth Alliance Board.

In 2002, Carol founded a non-profit called Willing Hands that is committed to helping at-risk families in Lee County.

Whether listening to music at Deport Park as part of the summer concert series, or volunteering through many charitable offering in Lee County or connecting one on one with their clients, Lee County has been a great place to plant roots.
